“Crypto-Revelation. Why there is no turning back from Blockchain and digital currencies”, at the top of Italian best-selling books list, talks about food safety and anti-counterfeiting of Made in Italy products

Andrea Tortorella, author of the book and CEO of Consulcesi Tech: “Thanks to the Blockchain the food chain becomes totally traceable: ‘parmesan’ and ‘mozzarille’ steal from Italy 65 billion euros every year, but the technology will make it impossible to deceive consumers”

Goodbye “Parmesan” and “mozzarille”, the future of the food traceability is already here and it is called Blockchain. The phenomenon of Italian sounding, the use of geographical names, images and brands that evoke Italy in products that have nothing made in Italy, steal from Italy 65 billion euros every year. This is a critical trouble in recent days also in the political debate about CETA, the free-trade agreement between European Union and Canada. It opened again the debate about the need to protect “made in” from American imitations.
There is the solution: “Thanks to the Blockchain technology the food chain becomes totally traceable, by identifying each product with a unique code full of all information, from the origin of the raw materials to the way of transportation before arriving on the supermarket shelves”, explains Andrea Tortorella, CEO of Consulcesi Tech and author of the book “Crypto-Revelation. Why there is no turning back from Blockchain and digital currencies”. The co-author is Massimo Tortorella, President of Consulcesi Group.
The book, published by Paesi Edizioni, is at the top of Italian best-selling books list of IBS (Engineering and IT sector) and Amazon (Macroeconomics sector). It deals in depth this topic in order to show the beginning, the production chain, the transformation and the distribution of a specific food to protect Made in Italy and also our health.
We are referring to people suffering from celiac disease – explains Andrea Tortorella -, thanks to the Blockchain you can know if an apparently harmless product has been transported with products made with traditional flours. The same goes for the organic sector, the zero kilometer, the DOP certifications: everything will be verifiable, the virtuous companies and their products will be appreciated and food frauds may have serious repercussions on our health will be fought. For this reason we are ready with our expertise thanks to more than twenty-years experience of Consulcesi Group in the medical field and in the healthcare”.
