The “coopetiton paradox”: the new blockchain business models
CB Insights’s 2019 blockchain trends reports, “Fostering cooperation between competing organizations remains as challenging as ever…in practice, distributed ledgers are collaborative, and competitors don’t generally collaborate.” A McKinsey analysis of 90 use cases identified this “coopetiton paradox.” The word ‘coopetition’ is the result of the crasis between ‘cooperation’ and ‘competition.’ Alison McCauley (Forbes) explains that the blockchain represents a major shakeup in the way value is created.
