Blockchain and cryptocurrencies, D’Alema (Former Italian PM): «They have so many advantages that they will prevail»

For endless reasons, our future starts in China. Some weeks ago, it hosted the congress of the Chinese federation of small and medium-sized enterprises. Do you know how the main session was called? “Blockchain forum”.

It was Massimo D’Alema, Former Italian Prime Minister, who told us he was impressed about this huge event to which he took part: «Experts from all over the world discussed the possible applications of this technology for a step change in the Chinese system of small and medium-sized enterprises», he said.

He therefore welcomed the publication of the book “Crypto-revelation” written by Massimo and Andrea Tortorella, since «these topics are quite unknown in Italy and I’m pleased that somebody discusses them», he said at the launch event of the book. D’Alema is sure that this technology «will soon prevail: in fact, it brings together speed, that characterizes digital systems, and certainty of the registration, that today is offered only by paper. Moreover, it allows a great saving of costs, procedure and paper. Blockchain technology is a sure and certified digital system».

D’Alema refers with similar words also to cryptocurrencies: «They have so many advantages that they will prevail. They cannot be stolen, faked or used off the books and make possible to register every transaction. It is clear that they break some taboos and go against some position of power – he goes on -. And that’s why many governments and the international financial system regard them with suspicion. But the advantages of this form of payment are so important that, in my opinion, it will prevail».
